Cyprus Health Tourism Council President and MP Dr. Ahmet Savaşan attended the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2025 Fair, one of the world's largest and most prestigious tourism events. Within the scope of the fair, Savaşan also followed the Tourism Ministers Summit organized in cooperation with UN Tourism and WTTC (World Travel & Tourism Council).

Sustainable and Innovative Tourism Emphasized

Stating that ministers and industry leaders from around the world shared common views at the summit that tourism investments should not only be bigger but also innovative, inclusive and sustainable, Dr. Savaşan said that the representatives of the Cyprus Medical Tourism Council closely followed the sessions on artificial intelligence, data security, new payment technologies and digital transformation in the travel industry at the WTM London Technology Summit.

International Meetings and New Collaborations Established

During the fair, Dr. Savaşan, together with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment Fikri Ataoğlu, held meetings with representatives and press members of many countries, especially Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey. In addition to these meetings, he also signed new health tourism cooperation agreements for 2026, especially in the fields of physical therapy and rehabilitation and IVF.

TRNC's Potential Introduced in the International Arena

WTM London 2025 was attended by more than 4 thousand exhibitors and 46 thousand visitors from more than 180 countries this year. Dr. Savaşan emphasized that the potential of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus in the fields of tourism, health and education was successfully promoted at the international level by the ministry and sector representatives.

TRNC Tourism will be carried to the Future

Prof. Dr. Ahmet Savaşan stated that together with the members of the Council, they will continue to follow global travel trends and work with determination to carry TRNC tourism into the future.
